Christian Blaha, Production Mechanic in Truck Assembly
Appreciation of every individualI am a qualified aircraft and auto mechanic and have been working in the production division at Linde Material Handling since 2006. I am currently working on the assembly line for the EVO models; the cleanest diesel forklift ever manufactured by Linde, at the largest German site in Nilkheim. But, I also help out in other divisions and have been able to familiarize myself with completely different departments over the past few years at my request. My team naturally also receives support from colleagues in peak times. This system works so well because of the high level of cohesion, which I really appreciate.
I am particularly proud of the successful market launch of the EVO models a year ago, in which some 160 colleagues were involved. To ensure a seamless production start, as manufacturing workers we worked hand-in-hand with developers, logistics experts, quality inspectors and planners. We also tested an innovative training system in order to prepare ourselves for new tasks. It ultimately only took about two weeks to get production up to speed.
Anyone looking for a stable environment and responsible employer has come to the right place at Linde.
I particularly appreciate the open work environment at Linde – in my team, even critical topics are openly addressed. Every individual's opinion is sought: at Linde, management personally responds to employee concerns. The company's responsible treatment of its workforce was also highlighted in the global economic crisis a few years ago: despite the difficult economic situation, there were no redundancies at Linde. The company thus takes the concerns of its employees seriously. This was also confirmed when I took a year of parental leave for my third child. I was subsequently able to return to my former position. So, anyone looking for a stable environment and responsible employer has come to the right place at Linde.
