Linde Material Handling wins the “materialfluss PRODUCT OF THE YEAR 2025” readers' poll in the “Software and Sensor Technology” category
Linde Material Handling (MH) has won first place in the “Software and Sensor Technology” category with the sensor-based Linde Reverse Assist Radar system in the “materialfluss PRODUCT OF THE YEAR 2025” readers' choice awards.
Under the new umbrella of Pelemedia GmbH (WEKA Business Medien until May 2024), the trade magazine materialfluss has continued its proven tradition of presenting innovative, technically advanced products and solutions that deliver significant customer benefits. Companies competed in five categories: “Warehouse and Picking Technology”, “Conveyor and Lifting Technology”, “Industrial Trucks and Components”, “Software and Sensor Technology” and “Logistics”, which also included the “Project of the Year” award. From mid-December 2024 to the end of January 2025, readers and followers across multiple channels were invited to vote for the nominated products and solutions. The winners were honored at a ceremony in Darmstadt on February 27. Linde MH secured the top position in the “Software and Sensor Technology” category and the Linde Reverse Assist Radar system is therefore one of the most favoured innovations in the intralogistics industry.
Assistance system puts “eyes” on the truck
The sensor-based Linde Reverse Assist Radar system helps prevent accidents by detecting moving and stationary objects behind the truck in the operating area. If the truck approaches an obstacle, the driver is alerted by a series of audible and visual warnings. If an obstacle suddenly appears and there is a risk of a collision, the system automatically intervenes and overrides the drive command. Its strong braking effect, calculated according to lifting height, driving speed, steering angle and obstacle distance, can reach up to 3 m/s2, ensuring the vehicle quickly comes to a complete stop when necessary. Different lighting conditions do not affect the system. When starting from a standstill, the Linde Reserve Assist Radar protects people and objects by blocking vehicle movement.
